New Jersey in 1985. When Robbie's girlfriend dumps him at the altar, he plunges into the the depths of despair. Only the support of his friend Julia (who is obviously meant for him despite her plans to marry Glen) keeps him sane.

The Wedding Singer Audition Preparation Suggestions

Since the whole point of this show is to pay tribute to the 80s, any great 80s pop/rock hit should do well as an audition song.

There is a large chorus of singers & dancers for the wedding scenes. The dancing is 80s-inspired, so jazz training is excellent background.

Robbie Hart (Rock Tenor, plays guitar, 25 - 35)
a musician and lead singer for a trio that plays at weddings - very charismatic yet insecure with "puppy dog" appeal
Julia Sullivan (Soprano, 25 - 35)
Robbie's friend - a sweet and understanding yet naive waitress for a catering firm
Glen Guglia
a calculating, money-loving Wall Street type
Linda
Robbie's trashy, oversexed girlfriend
Holly
Julia's uninhibited cousin
Sammy (plays guitar)
Robbie's friend and trio guitarist, not terribly bright but well meaning and supportive
George (strong falsetto, comic role)
Robbie's flamboyantly gay, eccentric friend and fellow trio member
Rosie (comic role)
Robbie's feisty grandmother
Impersonators: Ronald and Nancy Reagan, Mr. T., Tina Turner, Imelda Marcos, Billy Idol and Cyndi Lauper
