Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's Jekyll & Hyde.
Through his work Dr. Henry Jekyll encounters many troubled patients with afflictions beyond the physical, in particular he is plagued by one inmate of the hospital who has lost his mind, his own father. Because of his obsession with his tests, Henry arrives late for his and Emma's engagement party, where the men and women of society disagree with Emma's match. When Henry finally arrives Emma ensures him that they will be together through all his trials. Emma's father, Danvers, still is critical of the match.... continue reading.
Audition Preparation Suggestions for Jekyll & Hyde
The music has a "adult contemporary" style similar to that of Les Miserables. The show is mostly sung-through and there is relatively little dialoge - very strong singers with a classical sound are required.
Jekyll & Hyde can be played by the same performer or two separate performers depending on the production.
