- Brooklyn The Musical (2004 Original Broadway Cast)
|
Brooklyn is an urban fable performed by 5 street performers of various ages and ethnicities. It is a work of poetry, prose, and song, told on a street corner of Flatbush, Brooklyn. The troupe of 5 come together and throughout the course of the evening, reveal their inner selves, becoming bigger-than-life characters and transforming the decay of the Brooklyn streets into a brighter, urban Oz. They tell the story of a young singer who leaves Paris in search of her American father and ends up becoming a pop sensation. Brooklyn was presented regionally at the Denver Civic Theater prior to the Broadway run. Music is a mix of pop/rock and soul.
