Twin boys are separated at birth, and although one is brought up in priviledge and the other in poverty, grow up best friends.
The songs in Blood Brothers are integrated heavily into the plot, and so do not stand on their own well enough to be used for auditions. However, there are several monologues of interest: For example, 7-year-old Mickey has a monologue "Nearly 8".
The show style is narrative story-theatre.
