Bat Boy (2001 Original Off-Broadway Cast)

"Bat Boy: the musical" is a musical about the half-boy, half-bat found in a cave. The Parker family takes him in and civilizes him. Unfortunately, the townspeople are uncomfortable with Bat Boy's presence, and Mr. Parker begins saying evil things about him, including saying he killed a local girl. Meredith Parker and her daughter, Shelley, try to find a home without Mr. Parker, but when Shelley says she has fallen in love with Bat Boy, Meredith calls the idea "hideous". Shelley and Bat Boy run away from Meredith where they reveal their feelings for each other. After sleeping together, Bat Boy is hungry, and Shelley offers her arm so he can drink her blood, when Meredith runs in a stops the union, telling Bat Boy who he truly is (her son). The townspeople want to kill Bat Boy, and now that he knows his own past, he wants to die as well. He taunts Mr. Parker until Mr. Parker cuts his own throat, causing Bat Boy to instinctively feed and then stabs him in the back. When Mr. Parker goes to stab him again, Meredith jumps on his back and is killed instead. The two fall dead, and Shelley catches Bat Boy as he says his last words: "I am not a boy, I am an animal".
