Dancing Tips for Actors

All actors must become comfortable with dancing if they hope to be successful in musical theatre. Since Agnes DeMille choreographed the first staging of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma, dance has been an essential aspect of musical theatre as both spectacle and a method of expanding the plot. This section includes resources for types of dance commonly found in musical theatre shows, as well as tips for beginners, suggestions for increasing flexibility, and tributes to prominent dancers in musical theatre history.
