What Are They Looking For When
You Perform Your Audition Monologue?

Tips for preparing for your acting audition.

Monologues Should Be...

  • memorized
  • carefully timed to the requested length
  • relevant to your own age and life-experience
  • chosen from a play, not from a monologue book
  • supported by character research
  • introduced by giving the title of the play that the monologue is from, but don't launch into long introductions or "setting the scene"
