Our Club's first Healthy Habit is to drink enough water!
We all know that we should drink more water, and most of us know the many reasons why, but that doesn't mean we actually do it. For us performers, water intake is even more important for our voices, bodies, skin, and energy level. Drinking enough water can also help us maintain a healthy weight, which some of us might need a little help with right after the holidays. :)
Tips For Getting Enough Water
In order for the water to benefit our bodies, we need to drink regularly over the course of the day. Carrying a water bottle with you makes a lot of sense, and some studies have actually shown that a straw makes it easier for us to increase our water intake (maybe because it is less work?).
If you measure out the amount of water you should be consuming at the beginning of each day, you can see how much you are actually drinking.
The best way to make sure you are getting your water is to make it part of your routine - that's why this is called a "healthy habit". Match up drinking water with things you already do in the course of your day - mealtimes, exercising, watching tv, etc.
