Okay, so last night I have this strange feeling that I put the wrong phone number. I felt like I put the beginning of my cell phone number before the end of my house phone number. So, to confirm my contact info, I e-mailed him, also thanking him for the opportunity to audition and that I enjoyed the audition/experience. I sent that e-mail last night and I got an e-mail this morning from him. He said that I was on his callbacks list and that he hoped to see me there! I'm so happy. I just hope my friend (the one I went to the auditions with) got one as well. The other girls I knew at the audition, I'm sure got them. One is a 'veteran' of their stage (who is going for the Baker's Wife) and the other was a KICKIN' witch. Creepy but awesome at the same time. Then there was the girl that I know from another show but I don't know what she'd be good at. She's got a good voice though and she can BELT it like no other.
Anyway, I'm still preparing "On The Steps of the Palace" from Into the Woods for my callback. I'll start at the beginning which is "He's a very smart prince." I might stop at, "That you're not what he thinks that he wants?" or "'Cause you're starting to stick to the steps of the palace." I haven't decided yet. Hopefully I'll stop at the second one to show that I can handle the tempos. If I have the time later, I might post a recording of myself singing a piece of it. However, for the audition, we are singing accapella. So I'll probably do it accapella as well so I'm used to it. But yeah, I am going to practice as I have a three-day weekend. YAY.
I'm NOT set on Cinderella and I know he might not choose the strongest singer for a part. But, I hope that I can blow away the director with my acting in this song. I can relate to this song because it's about insecurity about people not liking you for who you really are and it's kind of funny. So yeah, I hope to do it and well. Also, I'm one of the stronger singers and she has to switch notes quickly and the change from head to chest or chest to head is very strong in this show and for Cinderella and both my songs showed it, I think. Both "No One Is Alone" from Into the Woods and "If I Were A Bell" from Guys and Dolls both have quick transitions. Yes, that's the word and I should have used it earlier. Haha. Anyway, I'm very excited and I'm getting busy working on the song. I give love to the people who are reading my blogs and supporting me. (: It means a lot.
