What is a PM?
A PM is short for private message. Private messages are sent between one member and another - only the person the message is sent to can read it.
What are those threads that start with "DQ" and the date?
These are discussion questions, posted by our admin or moderators. They are there to stimulate conversations and also offer new members an easy way to "jump in" to discussions.
Why are my posts counted?
Post counting is a way for us to measure a member's contributions on the MTA forum. There is a minimum number of posts to be considered for moderator positions.
What is reputation/karma?
Every member can "rate" every other member on the forum. This is not a popularity contest - it is a way of showing who you respect and who you think is helpful and reliable. Negative ratings should only be used if someone has broken a rule, has made a rude comment, posts false information, etc. You can change your rating of someone anytime.
How do you disable email notification for threads?
Go to Profile Manager and go to the forum tab. It will list your recent posts, and any subscriptions that you have. Then, (obviously) just click unsubscribe.
Why can't I delete/edit my posts?
Sometimes editing and deleting posts after there have been replies can cause discussions to appear disjointed. Minor edits (such as accidental smilies) are fixed by our moderators. If you have a serious editing or deleting request, please PM admin or a moderator. If the request is reasonable in our opinion, we will complete it for you. Since you cannot edit your own posts, please do your best to proofread your post before you click "submit".
