Wicked: 2008 national tour review
Written by broadwaybaby13

*would like to be considered for the front page*

Last night I saw the national tour of wicked in kansas city and let me say i was very much impressed. The whole cast was great and had good voices. Even my parents liked it and they weren't really looking forward to it that much. I would definitely recommend seeing the current tour if you get the chance to because you will not be disappointed. with that said, lets get to the cast:

Donna Vivino as Elphaba: She was the standby for Carmen Cusack and she did a great job in my opinion. Her voice was amazing as well as her acting. She added some funny impersonations of G(a)linda in "what is this feeling" which I liked. Her "defying gravity" was amazing! I've heard so many versions of that song where the person singing it belts a little too much or just doesnt have the voice to carry such a great song, but she did a great job. Overall, i enjoyed her performance.

Katie Rose Clarke as G(a)linda: She was probably my favorite of the cast. Her voice won me over the second she started singing and her acting was right on par. Ive seen other people in this role who try too hard to be the ditzy blonde type but it seemed to come naturally to her. Her "popular" was hysterical. i don't think i've seen it done better. She had the whole audience laughing in every scene.Except the serious ones of course.

Clifton hall as fiyero: He did a good job. Ive seen better, ive seen worse. I enjoyed his "dancing through life". He was fun to watch and had good chemistry with the rest of the cast which i think is important with the person playing fiyero.

Deedee Magno Hall as Nessarose: I really enjoyed her performance. Her acting was great. Her voice was perfect for ther role: simple, pleasant, and nice to listen to.  I dont really have much else to say about her other than she did a great job.

Alma Cuervo as Madame Morrible: She did a good job as well. Her voice was great and her line delivery was great as well. She definitely reminded me of the original morrible, Carole Shelley. But in a good way.

Lee Wilkof as the Wizard: He was another one of my favorites. His line delivery was great. He added just the right amount of comedy to the role to get peple laughing and still be a believable character. I really enjoyed his "wonderful" he and donna made a great pair in that song. He was right up there with Joel Gray in my opinion.

Brad Weinstock as Boq: wow, i dont really have much to say about him at all. he did a great job and played the character well. Him and  Deedee made a good pair and had good chemistry.

The ensemble and swing cast did an awesome job. They had some really good dancers and singers. The ensemble was a little small but they made up for that in sound.

Overall, i loved the performance and was happy i got a chance to see it because it was almost sold out when I got my tickets. I definitely would not miss a chance to see this amazing show.

This tour is coming to my town in November and we are already planning our seats. I have never been to Wicked before, and I am super excited.

I'm going to see the show in June. I'm so excited! (even though I've seen it once already)
