Update and makeup question
Written by broadwaygirl257
Hey guys! Feels like forever since I've been on this site, haven't had two seconds to sit down and write between rehearsals and shows. Lend Me A Tenor opened Thursday and it's been going really well! I've learned a lot about improving since I started that show, like what to do when someone knocks really early or late in a scene or when someone spills a bottle of pills onstage or when your dress either keeps falling down or won't zip up and you miss some lines because of it!  We've had some really good audiences so far. Now I finally get a break (since Tenor doesn't start up again until this Thursday) and get to go catch up on the few Footloose practices I missed. That show's going really well too. We open next week and have all the songs and scenes blocked except for one. We just haven't learned any of the dance routines yet, so I'm freaking out because I'm not a strong dancer! Speaking of Footloose (finally getting to the point here) does anyone know how to apply makeup to make it look like you're a "nervous but attractive" 30 year old? Does anyone have any good tips or links they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks!

i would just focus on the 'attractive 30 year old' let the nervous part be an acting thing... most 30 year olds women don't really look drastically different than a 20 something, except maybe a little more conservative, i.e. less trendy. You shouldn't need to bother with 'aging' your face or anything extreme like that. I would just do your basic stage make up and let the director tell you if you need to add anything
