The Tony Awards and Facebook
Written by IOwnTheEnjyVest

I watched the Tony Awards and it was very intense for me.

First of all, I would like to express my happiness for Patti LuPone, Boyd Gaines and Laura Benati (sp? I'll edit later)on winning their awards especially on Laura's first win! She was so adorable when she made her speech!

To explain the title, I was on Facebook during the Awards and I was having a conversation (about the Tonys) with fellow theatre nerd and Javert in Les Mis (who is one of my best friends in the world) and I was running back and forth between the TV room and the computer room and at one point before Patti's victory, I was running back but I ran into my couch hitting me in the gut and causing me to flip over it and IT REALLY HURT! I still have a stomachache.

Anyway, I am disappointed that Xanadu and Sunday in the Park with George did not win anything and I thought they should have. I also strongly disagree with the In the Heights victory of Best Musical. I don't think it really had the same heart and soul as the other nominees (sp?)

I also liked the Cry Baby performance but it was a bit Grease-esque for me but I did love that the lead singer's prison number was 4601! Add a 2 in front of it and it would be perfect!

The Grease and Rent performances were great although for Rent, I was wondering where Jesse was. Or was he there and I was too hyper to notice?

August: Osage County won A LOT of awards so I'll probably talk my mom into going to see it. 39 Steps looks interesting as well.

Thank you for listening to this review and I hope none of you was injured during the Awards unlike me.

I couldn't be on OR watch it at the time. I was gone and where I was the power was out!!! I taped it though and watched it earlier.
