Very Happy
Written by Starlet_Actress21

Well, right now, i am extremely happy.

I was invited on Monday to do a murder mystery dinner tonight. I've always wanted to do one of them, and it's a real honor to be asked to do it with this theatre. So, of course, I said yes- and it was sooo fantastic. We get $50 or something for being in it, but I would do it weekly for free! This time, I played Yvonne, a French pastry chef. It was all improv, we only got information about our characters and their backgrounds.

I was really stressing- I was the only one there who hadn't done one of these before. I was freaked that I wouldn't be able to remember anything and was going back and forth whether I wanted to do a French accent, as I'd never tried one before. I ended up doing the accent, and it was really easy after I got into it. I was still nervous when it started because it was my job to pretty much get the ball rolling, and I didn't know when to do it. Finally, I asked our "boss" for the evening and she told me when to go.

My other worry was laughing- I am terrible at laughing on cue, and Yvonne has to burst into hysterical laughter after the guy dies. I was still prtty bad, but it wasn't as bad as I'd imagined.

The rest was pretty easy- I'm not a social person at all, I won't go up and talk to people. But as Yvonne, hiding under my French accent and a really nifty hat, I had no problem going up to people and asking them in French and English if they liked their food, how they were doing, etc. (Another funny thing is that even though I took three years of French, I'm terrible at it and have forgotten pretty much anything. I was surpised how much I remembered.) It was such a releif at the end to go back to my regular American accent!

Odd Couple is going really well- we open in about two weeks.

I've pulled a muscle in my heel- I didn't even think that was possible. I must have done it i jazz class, probably leaping-  I tend to injure myself whilst leaping. It seems to be getting more painful, and now it hurts to stand up or sit down if I put my weight on my left foot- which is always (and probably a big reason as to why it got hurt.) We'll see what comes of that.

So yeah, just wanted to give an update- I have an audition for The Homecoming on Sunday, but with my schedule, I probably won't get in. Wish me luck anyway!
