Update
Written by Starlet_Actress21

Well, I'm in three shows again!

I'm doing the Haunted Lantern Tour again, like I have for the past three years. I can't believe it's been almost five years since I saw it as an audience member! I have a new role this year, much bigger than the last three years, and it's really freaking me out. I have a really dramatic monologue and I'm just really scared of it. I do get to wear a pretty dress, it sounds like, though!

I'm also in the female Odd Couple. I love this play to death and I am really sad that we have less than a month of rehearsals. Not less than a month at this point- less than a month AT ALL. We've only have about three and we only have about eight left. I'm only in three or four scenes- I play Mickey, the cop. I love my part. It's a pretty big one, and she's really cool. I reallt enjoy playing her. My friend are playing the leads, which makes it even more fun, and I like everyone else except for one girl, who is incredibly frustrating. She's a horrible sight reader, so we were really slowed down during our read-throughs, but I thought it would be better at our next rehearsal, when we were out of book. It wasn't. She asked for every. Single. Line. That's not to say I didn't ask for a few, but every single one? Hopefully it'll get better. But besides her, everything is going great, and I'll be really sad when this show is over. (I'm also excited because I'll be getting my first mic. I really don't need it for a play, which is why I've never had one, but I am still excited!)

I'm in the school play, as well. Well, "in" is a bit of an exaggeration. I think I'm onstage for about ten seconds. I'm not even kidding. I thought my audition went really well, and I was pleasently surprised at how well it went. But I said to my friend, "If I get in at all, I betcha I'll be Woman Wtih Dog." Called it- when the cast list when up, my name was next to that character. But I decided to keep the part, much to the amazement of a few of my friends and my parents. It's something else to put on my resume, and it would be kind of ungrateful. A LOT of girls tried out and only six made it. It'll just be a really easy show.

Dance classes have started- I've been missing a lot due to Odd Couple, so I just had my first jazz class of the year last night and it was AWESOME! It's the same teacher as last year, which is great, and a lot of my friends are in the class. (Unfortunatly, so is Kailey, but she's a bit less skilled at dancing than she is at singing, so maybe she'll be a little humbler... well, I can dream, right?) It's been extended to an hour and a half, which is great. It was a major ago boost when this girl who I'd never met until that day came over and was like, "Your leaps are amazing!" Wow- what a compliment! Especially since my leaps are pretty wimpy and girly, LOL. So yeah, I really like how that class is going.

Triple Threats, though, is another story. Last year, it was fantastic. But this year, we've got a new teacher. Which was really startling because everyone- including our old teacher- was talking about him coming back this year. We're hoping he got a really good job offer or somethng, because he is really good. But you think they would have told us... But whatever. The new teacher is nice, but I don't like the new turn our class has taken. This teacher likes to freestlye... I can't freestyle. Like, at all. And she didn't choose very good songs. She chose a few good solos... but I was slightly intimidated by the number of people who, when she was naming the solo numbers, were like, "Oh, that's mine." How can people be so confident?

I also got a nifty job for Friday (and only Friday). The producer of the theatre that I'm doing Odd Couple at called the other day and asked me if I wanted to do their murder mystery dinner thing. I had heard that very few people get asked to do this, so I was really surprised and happy to be asked. I don't know exactly what I'll be doing, but it takes place in the 40's, which I love. I didn't know it was paid, either, so that was a pleasant surprise!

So things are going pretty well, overall. :)
