I guess the length of your hair is a factor. You could braid your hair tightly to put it up under a wig, or possibly just french braid it and have it that way the whole time.

Have you gone to the costumes/hair/makeup crew about it?

You could go to the hairdresser to get it chemically straightened.

Or invest in a flat-iron. You may need some extra product to get the optimal effect for that, but you can also do waves/big curls with it to get more of that 40s/50s look.

Or get a nice wig. If you want to go that route, I can give you some tips, but it's a bit late to order online from my usual sources, so you'll have to see what you can find locally.
