Why Am I Letting Myself Do This???
Written by andgadoline

West Side Story Rehersal. Part Maria. Verdict.... 3 weeks to go - ****** Distaster.

I'll run through the details. Firstly my Tony won't look at me during balcony scene, has head shoved in script the whole time when we were suposed to shed scripts last week. I know i'm only suposed to worry about my part, but how can you do a love scene if the other actor is giving nothing back to you.

Secondly, just taught everyone the cha-cha the same one that's in the film. same choreography and the guy playing chino who's name i will omit said and i quote "you look so stupid, everyones going to laugh at you." i'll take it lightly but it pissed me off so much as i was really happy with it.

Thirdly. The second director keeps changing where i'm suposed to come on from and who i dance with in the gym scene. I tell her shes wrong and she won't belive me. She not making notes of entraces and won't admit my notes are right. As a result Maria is in the fight scene at the start and dancing with 2 jets in dance.

Forth...ly. Had big band rehersal last night, the timing i've been doing for alot of songs is aparently wrong. Not blaming anyone else, this is my fault, but it's a weight on my shoulders and i've got to get it right by next week.

Fithly, the guy playing riff (sort of ex-bf) is being a massive jerk about me round school.

Moral is low. and i need advice or reassurence or somthing. ... help..??

Oooh I had the same problem as your fourth problem with Dorothy in The Wiz. It's tough, eh? See if you can get some private work with the music director.

At this point, look for the positives. Do you have a cute costume? Is Anita fantastic? Can you run lines with Tony to work on things? I know it's tough, but attitude could make or break the production. Our production of bye bye birdie last year sucked until tech week, when everything miraculously came together and everyone loved it. come to think of it, thats how a lot of shows are.

As for the fifth thing...I'll pretend to beat him up for you smilies/smiley.gif there are millions of people in China who have no idea who he is (for some reason this always makes me feel better).
