Double casts are not a good idea!!
Written by andgadoline

Ok, new developments regarding West Side Story. I'm getting better and hitting the top C at the end of the quintet is seeming more possible everyday. Individually it's very gd.

Regarding other cast members not so. The maria's Anitas and the Tonys are doubled with lower years. However girl doubled for Maria is having huge problems with her cast and working alone and the younger girl playing Anita is threatening to drop out. DISASTER! older anita causing problems still too. Very Very good, and better than i am, but it's great to have a challeneging cast and one i get on with.

The guy playing Tony is still a bit scetchy however i may have narrowly avoided having to kiss him as it did not happen in rehersal. Fingers slightly crossed. If it does happen when are they going to reherse it?? |URGHHHH must just buckle down get on with it.

Dancing = fine but partners are awful. Not helpful. And the dance choreorgrapher has put Maria in jet shark fight scene WTFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to work on chemestry with Tony and PRACTICE LIKE CRAZY. Six weeks am shitting myself about top C.

Bye 4 now XXX

good point. why put maria in the fight scene? she's the least likely character in the whole show to fight. break a leg, however it goes

Wait... doesn't she do some peace brokering in the end? Geez... I mean, I know of a lot of directors putting their own spin on things but come on. I say "good luck" to you. If you stick this one out maybe you'll have the lead next time, without double casting. smilies/wink.gif

I don't know why directors do this to themselves. It is such hard work. Especially for directors as they have to double rehearse everything. A person should only be double cast if there is some reason that they can't be at all performances or has a health issue. That's my opinion anyway.
