Auditioning for Legally Blonde

| This morning I went to my first Equity Chorus Call (as a non union member of course). I got to the studio at 7 am and was number 5 on the un-official non union list, so for the next three hours I was crossing my fingers that they would honor it. When the monitor arrived he told us that there were over 200 equity female dancers signed up to audition today, so there was no way of knowing if the rest of us would be seen.
In the end only about 90 equity dancers showed up so the staff decided they had enough time to have one group of non-equity dancers audition before the boys came for their call. There were probably between 80 and 90 non-union girls there and they decided to type cast us.
I got past the type cast (which always feels so random and you're never 100% sure that they really did point to you, until they don't say anything when you had in your resume).
The two dance captains taught the 20 of us left the dance break from Positive, which was fun (and a lot harder than it looks). The deal was that they didn't have any contracts open at the time, but will keep us in mind as hole are expected to open up soon. |
