I am the large smiling wardrobe with (that's right) a birdcage in my hair. We rented my costume, but our Gaston made my wig himself!
In terms of comedy, this was probably the juciest part I've ever had in my life, but it was also the most physically demanding (you can barely move in that thing, and sitting down was out of the question). Of course, 90% of my entrances and exits took place on a narrow flight of skeletal stairs that I literally had to shimmy through because I was so wide. Ah, the irony!
