Going to New York!! - 2007/07/14 22:24I'm soo excited, my parents are taking me to New York and we're trying to get tickets to see two shows. The whole problem is picking a show!
I'd like to get some second opinions because this is such a hard task. We're picking from:
Legally Blonde A Chorus Line Droswy Chaperone Spamalot Jersey Boys
orrr Curtains but I don't know that much about it, so I don't even have an opinion. haha, HELP!!! Hi! I'm Amanda Dance is my first love.. but Musical Theatre is a close second.

Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/14 22:40That is a pretty hard decision! I dont know WHAT I would choose...But I must say I'm very jealous. Livin' in a small town like mine,is not fun!"Elphie... you mustn't blame yourself. It's dreadful, it is, to have a house fall on you, but accidents will happen..." -Glinda (Wicked)

Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/14 22:42If you have the opportunity to go see David Hyde Pierce, and don't, I think I will hate you forever.
Naturally I'm exaggerating, but I am clearly voting for Curtains._____________ Kris MTA Admin

Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/14 23:09I tried to see one of those shows when I was in NYC. I really would've loved to see any of them (but, unfortunately, the cheaper tickets were all sold out when I got there and I didn't really want to pay $110 just to be in the orchestra section)...that's a good list you have. Just draw from a hat!

Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/15 13:55My definite two choices would be Curtains and The Drowsy Chaperone. Curtains is a backstage murder mystery. I've heard it's great, plus it's Kander and Ebb. They're both good old fashioned not-based-on-anything musicals. Have fun!To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man. Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/15 22:46thanks you guys! I think we're coming close to a decision.
and yeah, haha, I live in about the smallest town ever. But it's in Pennsylvania, so it's not a nightmare getting to the city. Hi! I'm Amanda Dance is my first love.. but Musical Theatre is a close second.

Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/17 00:53I'd pick Spamalot and Drowsy. (even though Sutton left...)
Anyways Spamalot is really funny(at least the soundtrack is) but so is Chorus Line, so if you want to laugh a lot, pick those two, as well as Drowsy, Drowsy is pretty funny too, so those are the hilarious choices.
I don't knwo anything about Curtains, so I can't say to pick it or not, which is the same for LB and Jersey Boys...so I'd pick out of the top three
What has it been narrowed down to since you last posted??The opposite of Rent is Oklahoma!!! Why didn't I think of that?

Haha, we aren't getting very far in this process.Hi! I'm Amanda Dance is my first love.. but Musical Theatre is a close second.

Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/17 19:23I've just seen the film version of A Chorus Line, and I loved the music and the storyline. I've heard that the stage version is a lot better, so now I wish I'd seen the stage show while I was in NYC!
It sucks that everyone in your family has contrasting opinions

Re:Going to New York!! - 2007/07/17 21:33If you need to know more about Curtains or any other show you're considering, watch videos on Broadwayworld.com and Broadway.com. They have interviews, preview clips, all kinds of stuff. I think it'll help a lot.To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.
