CD vs. Show Music for Joseph - 2007/07/13 04:24 I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm currently doing a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and the original Broadway cast recording from 1982 is NOT a good guide. The actual show music has a lot more harmonies, different parts singing at certain times, and, most important DIFFERENT KEYS. The actual show music, in general, is higher. We all lead such elaborate lives

Re:CD vs. Show Music for Joseph - 2007/07/13 19:09 That's because it switched licensing companies since then. It was originally under MTI but was recently bought by Rodgers & Hammerstein. They also cut out a ton of the dance music. I just finished doing this show and I like the older version better. -Georgia
