Sugar the musical, Audition song question - 2007/06/26 23:15 My high school is doing "Sugar" next year as our big fall musical.

I plan on auditioning for Sugar Kane and found a song that would work for me and my voice type.

Problem is I can't find it anywhere!

it's the last song in the show, "When You Meet a Man in Chicago." I would either like to find the lyrics or the sheet music for it, i'm not too picky.

If anyone knows where i can find this music i would owe you big time.

thank you all

Elizabeth

Re:Sugar the musical, Audition song question - 2007/06/26 23:25 Does your director want you to sing a song from the musical? If she did then she might be willing to lend you out the music or tell you where you might be able to get it. The opposite of Rent is Oklahoma!!! Why didn't I think of that?

Re:Sugar the musical, Audition song question - 2007/06/27 00:28 In case you didn't realize it I wanted to let you know that "When You Meet a Man in Chicago" is sung by Sweet Sue, not Sugar Kane.

I was in this show a few years ago and to be honest the song that seems to stand out as being the best for Sugar is "Hey, Why Not." So if you have to sing one from the show I'd go with that one.

If the song doesn't fit your voice as well then I would audition for Sweet Sue. I know she's not the lead, but it's the second largest female role and she's sassy and mean. Sugar's sweet and pretty dumb, but if you like to play Marilyn Monroe types she's the role for you.
