DQ 6-19-07: Hard Working Conditions - 2007/06/19 23:01 As many of you know, I've been cast in beanstalk the musical. Because all of the money goes to "Rainbows for Kids" many of the kids cast in the show are the "Rainbow Kids" and Many of them are Physically and/or Mentally disabled. This makes things very frustrating and hard for me to do, but I am glad that I am doing it, and am happy to be helping out these kids.

Have you ever done a show in which the working conditions were difficult? What were these conditions? How did you deal with it?

Re:DQ 6-19-07: Hard Working Conditions - 2007/06/20 01:39 In my show of the Music Man, we had a girl cast as a townsperson who was blind. It was pretty difficult, we did a bunch of different formations and choreography in certain chorus numbers, we didnt want to just leave her offstage. But we didnt want her to be carrying her walking stick with her everywhere. We assigned a few girls to help her on and offstage and find her costume and such. She was really nice about everything, and never got totally confused. We really just had to be careful and patient, and it all turned out well. *´¨)

Re:DQ 6-19-07: Hard Working Conditions - 2007/06/20 15:19 When I went to a summer drama camp a few years ago, there was a girl who was visually impaired. She used a cane to help her get around. It was frustrating not only because she couldn't do a lot of the games, but also because she was pretty arrogant. She was extremely good at memorizing, but she didn't put it to use and refused to do a lot of stuff not because she couldnt, but because she wouldn't. She was pretty mena to everyone. I just tried to ignore the remarks she made and help her out if she needed it. Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.
