Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/06/19 22:02 43. You dont care when your walking down the hallway and the dressing room is flung open with half naked people inside.
Okay first off - this is basically my life I get A LOT of disgusted/amazed/even JEALOUS looks from my friends when I inform them that I've walked by a guys dressing room. You should see their faces when they learned I did a show where there was a "leads" dressing room (mine), and a chorus one. They all said, "Oh my god, so those two GORGEOUS guys that were the leads were in YOUR dressing room!?! But they're your age?! Oh my god!"

47. You have a restaurant that you and the cast go to the night before the last night of the show... and you battle other schools for tables when you get there.
This is true BEYOND belief. At my school, we are always performing the same time as another nearby high school. We ALWAYS fight over space at this one diner, and the school who gets there second normally leaves and has to eat at Denny's.

59. You cry when you hear Collins do the reprise of "I'll Cover You."
This is so accurate, it's really scaring me!
My Name Is: Lisa! And I'm fifteen!
Upcoming Auditions: The Pajama Game
Favorite Roles: Tumnus in Narnia The Musical & the Narrator (the Artful Dodger) in A Christmas With Scrooge.

Go figure, I had never heard of this. But when I Googled it, I also found a fun article on the Steppenwolf site with a list of other theater superstitions and their possible origins: http://www.steppenwolf.org/backstage/article.aspx?id=23

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/06/24 19:38 - you start taking vitamens weeks before the rehersals start because you know the director is going to "recomend" it.
- you have been recognized at least once by someone who you have never met before who only knows you as "that person" from "that play". (or maybe i just come from a small town)
- you know were everyone from the cast lives because you've all been giving each other rides to rehersals.

these were the first things that popped into my head when i started reading them. maybe i DO just live in a small town. go figure.

That's happened to me once!! But it was a summer program that I HATED so I didn't return but came to see the show anyway. We were doing a modern version of a midsummer's night dream ( I was Mia[hermia]) and someone knew who i was...it kinda creeped me out, but still.

And also, maybe I just go to a small church, but i used to be in the christmas pagaent every single year-- I have been every female role and some of the male ones...but now I'm too old, so I help direct it. That, in combination with all the other stuff I do at church, gets me recognized by people I don't know a lot.

This is totally me! One of my friends from school saw me in Clue (I was Mrs. White) After the show, she said that the lady sitting next to hear asked if I was an exchange student from England. People recognize me all the time cuz of that.
Name: Stefani

What, is there something in my teeth? Is my underskirt showing? All right, lets just get this over with. No, I am not seasick. Yes, I have always been green. No, I did not eat grass as a child - Elphaba

LOL yes those are both me. there's an intersting story to the first one..... whenever i check out my musicals or broadway cast albums, it's always the same dude at the computer (always a coincidence)
and everytime i check something out, i ALWAYS have to pay a fine, because i never want to return my stuff lol.
like when i rented cats, i had to pay 20 bucks in fines (but i also rented hello dolly too) , and they got 2 more copies of cats in case i took it again. they were relieved to know that i bought them both eventually.
then that dude always says "bring it back on time, please."
lol well, i try.

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/07/18 22:10 ~ You lock someone out of the theatre and yell at them through the door if they say the name of the Scottish Play.
~ You dump a box of jackets on the head of anyone who whistles in the theatre
~ You can sing both parts of La Vie Bohem, and so can all of your friends.
~ You've yelled "YOU DIDN'T WATCH THE TONYS?"
~ You know that review shows are actually a chance for the choreographer to see how hard they can work you before you pass out. (EVIL!!!)
~ You have travelled many hours and hundreds of dollars just to see shows.
~ You're parents stopped asking "havent you seen that yet?" because they know that, even if you have seen it, you are going to see it again.
~ You freaked when you heard the rumor that raven symone was going to play g(a)linda in Wicked (I almost had a heart attack)
~ You're non-theatre friends hate riding in your car because your car is "allergic to anything but broadway."
