Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/05/22 20:29how about: ~you have your own website where you post all of your theatre news for 'fans' and hand the URL out to people on the street ~when you get a new script, you fan yourself with it and say 'script' and 'callback' and 'rehearsal' as loud as possible so that strangers will be interested in you ~you have walked around the park downtown dressed as Cruella De Ville trying to sell tickets to the latest show your company is doing ~changing in front of people? No problem, even when you're coming right from the thatre to the cast party

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/05/22 20:43~your first kiss was for a show (this is looking like a very sad, very realistic possibility for me) ~You blew off the Pirates of the Carribean premeire with 25 of your friends because a theatre friend found a way to sneak backstage at 'Guys and Dolls' and you have all of the numbers memorized, so you might as well join in on the chorus numbers. Sadly, me too. LOL

^Now this... I dunno. I do love PotC....
Your life stops when the cast list is posted
Um... why wouldn't it? LOL
I am forever being told to lower my voice at home because if i get really excited, I start really projecting. My sister has been known to say in that loving, sisterly way, "Oh, my God, shut UP!"
About reading Les Mis... it was sad that I was the only one in a cast of fifty or so , including the director and producer, who had read this book when I was in it. Including the leads. And I was an enesemble member.Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.

Oh yes. I definitely use my stage voice everywhere - including offstage. Just today I was jokingly interrogating my friend about something and realized i was nearly yelling. That's just how we actors are, eh?
I definitely think that talking loudly is list worthy:
- You project even when offstage - so much that is has become an nuisance to strangers and an embarrassment to your friends. My Name Is: Lisa! And I'm fifteen! Upcoming Auditions:The Pajama Game Favorite Roles: Tumnus in Narnia The Musical & the Narrator (the Artful Dodger) in A Christmas With Scrooge.

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/05/23 18:53-You have more sheet music than is healthy. -You know there really is a song for everything. And you sing them. Often. -People don't give you funny looks anymore whenever you start babbling. -Over half the songs on your iPod are showtunes from shows your theatre friends have never heard of. -You go see shows even if it got bad reviews just to go see a show. -Whenever you see a movie, you think about how you could block it on a stage.
Heehee. This is fun!Hey yo! Let's go to the mo-fro (Melody Freeze), To get a fro yo (frozen yogurt), then we'll stop by the scho-sho (Scholorshop), on our way to WYSO (World Youth Symphony Orchestra)!
Just a little saying from Interlochen, possibly one of the greatest places on the globe!

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/05/23 19:41THAT IS SOOOO TRUE! Ah man I love theatre. Most of my friends from school who don't do theatre all think I'm nuts and hate how I'm always busy because of rehersal or after shows "Sorry I'm getting together with some friends from (insert show here)______. You can come if you want. And the beloved response is "You singing show tunes is one thing but a room full of people I don't know singing show tunes that I've never heard.... tempting but I think I'll pass."Kylie

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/06/03 21:19Oh dear... I AM a theatre kid!! Well... some of these are a bit exaggerated. Lol they're hilarious. I always break into song in the hallways at school when I say... for example: Come with me....... where chains will never bind you!! Yeah, my friends know i'm nuts.
And this is way off topic and random, but Bob Sagot on Americas Funniest Home Videos was making fun of Phantom of the Opera just now. LOL and yes, it was a re-run...*´¨) ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.•´ (¸.•´ Annie
