Secret Garden! - 2007/05/18 17:13 Ok...so I didn't get the parts I wanted (Mary or Martha) but I did get a pretty good part- the Ayah! Mary's ayah who dies in India who shows up when Mary thinks of her. No lines, but some good solos. So...Yay! Psalm 42:8

All the world's a stage....

Currently: Ensign Cora MacRae in South Pacific
Just finished: The Ayah in the Secret Garden

Re:Secret Garden! - 2007/05/18 22:44 Oh cool! My schools is probably doing this musical next year and I was going to aim for Ayah. She is supposed to be Indian isn't she?My school isn't really diverse so I may still have a chance anyway...

Congratulations!!! Hope the show is super fun.
The opposite of Rent is Oklahoma!!! Why didn't I think of that?

Re:Secret Garden! - 2007/05/19 11:22 I loved the part of Ayah when I saw a community theater perform Secret Garden. The actress I saw played her in a very mysterious, ghostly way. I think you can have a lot of fun with that role. Congratulations! Jennifer

Yeah, she's supposed to be Indian, which is one of the reasons I didn't expect to get her- I'm the palest person you ever met with really blue eyes. But...makeup does a lot.

Re:Secret Garden! - 2007/05/20 01:36 Woo for makeup! And congrats again!

I just thought of another question, is it pronounced "I-yah" or A-yah"? Or completely different?

Re:Secret Garden! - 2007/07/13 15:44 So how are you coping with lyrics like "A'o jadu ke mausam"? Current role: none
Recent roles: The Stingiest Man In Town [ensemble], Bye Bye Birdie! [ensemble/Ed Sullivan], High School Musical [Troy. Don't judge me.]
Dream role: Toby in Sweeney Todd, Billy Flynn in Chicago
Upcoming auditions: The Music Man, possibly Beauty and the Beast [if I'm desperate]
