The only suggestion I can give is to just preactice reading things aloud. Graba book frm a shelf, open it to a rndom page and start reading. One actress honed her cold reading skills by doing this with a phone book.
I don't know about everyone but I know I change my voice when I'm playing a character, just slightly. When I'm talking as myself, I always think my voice sound so weird to myself. But I have never worried about this onstage because it doesn't sound like me. After watching y friends perform in acting class, I realized that they also do this. One of my friends makes her voice sound more little girlish when she speaks. It's not annoying, but it's not her normal speaking voice.
