Re:Center Stage Club Assignment #4 - 2007/02/23 14:40 Okay, I did Urinetown. I was part of a mass musical theatre thing last year which involved musical theatre songs form the last 100 years. Our final number was "Run Freedom Run." I had never heard of Urinetown before and didn't really think much of it. I did some research on it though and recently saw a production of it. It was AMAZING! I loved it. I would encourage anyone, even the non-musical lovers, to see this show.

Re:Center Stage Club Assignment #4 - 2007/02/23 15:23 That doesn't mean it isn't worth reading. Understanding the source behind a musical is always helpful - it gives you additional insight into the plot and characters. Quite a few of us here are adults, you know.
Yes, sorry, the book is worth reading, it's good. But I thought defying_gravity was 12 or 13, and I was just kind of making sure she keeps that in mind in case she is.

Re:Center Stage Club Assignment #4 - 2007/02/28 21:18 I turned 13 a few weeks ago.

By the way...I can handle "adult themed" stuff better than most my age, who still giggle and shriek. They're immature, I'll tell you that. Plus, my mom said she's going to read it too.

Re:Center Stage Club Assignment #4 - 2007/03/02 09:37 Me!! Okay, so I rented the old old movie of Kiss Me Kate (the 1950's one). It was a bit confusing imn the begining, I didn't know why Cole Porter was a character. But it was good, and funny sometimes. But maybe I'll have to find another version of it, this one was a little too old for me lol. And Kathryn Grayson (Lilli Vannessi) , to me, sounded very similar to Sarah Brightman when she was singing. *´¨)

Re:Center Stage Club Assignment #4 - 2007/03/03 13:43 I've actually looked up a few plot synopsises (plural of synopsis?) of Kiss Me Kate so now I actually know the story. I've also watched some songs on Youtube listened to clips on itunes. I really like the music so I added it to my Netflix list and I think its the next one I get

Re:Center Stage Club Assignment #4 - 2007/03/04 19:06 Me Me Me! I just finished Wicked (the book) last night! Oh My GOSH! It was perhaps the best book I've ever read, although differing from the musical by a lot. Oh, and I bought the soundtrach on iTunes and watched clips on YouTube.

Re:Center Stage Club Assignment #4 - 2007/03/04 22:23 I read the synopsis for the Color Purple, and I admit the story is good, but nothing exactly popped out at me to make me want to see it that much other than everyone I've met who has seen it says that it is great. Some of the main points didn't make me want to see it that much, like Celie having kids before she was fourteen and then her relationship with Shug. I wasn't quite sure what they were to each other. But I think I'll probably go see it sometime. Hey yo!
Let's go to the mo-fro (Melody Freeze),
To get a fro yo (frozen yogurt),
then we'll stop by the scho-sho (Scholorshop),
on our way to WYSO (World Youth Symphony Orchestra)!

Just a little saying from Interlochen, possibly one of the greatest places on the globe!
