I love you.
Oh! I totally forgot about Stephanie and Michael! They rock as well.Current Role: Fantine-Les Miserables (opens: May 26-29)

Re:Who is your musical theatre idol? - 2007/03/09 23:53^^ Well, she was a good actor and look for Christine... but she sounded very strained. I try not to bash Gerry & Emmy lovers (although gerry butler is hott), but I think there were probably better people out there. MC said he wouldn't mind dubbing if he had to, which I wish they'd done (on someone else, or that would look too weird) But ALW wanted a different look and sound. (Yay, more Michael fans!) Michael set a standard as the phantom that no one has reached or will.*´¨) ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.•´ (¸.•´ Annie

Re:Who is your musical theatre idol? - 2007/03/11 00:50For someone who's only had a few voice lessons in 4 months before filming, Gerry was good. But his acting was better. (He deserves better roles than his new cruddy movie "300".) He really understood the phantom, so maybe the director wanted to have a better actor than singer.*´¨) ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.•´ (¸.•´ Annie

Barbra Streisand is also one of my idols, too. She was only in her twenties when she became a broadway star. And I don't think anybody has ever had pipes like hers. (Linda Eder comes close, but not too close )*´¨) ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.•´ (¸.•´ Annie

Re:Who is your musical theatre idol? - 2007/03/16 00:17 Hey Everybody! I really Love Kristin Chenoweth! Not only does she embody the talent and star quality of a bonafide performer but she maintains her faith and convictions. Yay! I just saw her in "The Apple Tree" in New York and she was FaNtAsTiC!Sarah joy Makus

Re:Who is your musical theatre idol? - 2007/03/17 10:20Megan Hilty. She's quite new, but she is amazing. She's also a lot like me... wasn't very confident about her acting, hated dance auditions, wasn't sure of herself at all. Then, all of a sudden it snapped into place, she realized she had to stop feeling unsure of herself and get out there and do something before her golden opportunity (Wicked) was wasted. I know from first-hand experience that she is also very nice.Next role: Zoe (The Pizza Joint)
Last role: Cyndra (High School Musical)

Wicked was the 1st show I saw on Broadway, back in 2005. Megan and Sho were in it @ the time, and I remember absolutly adoring Megan. I think she has a good future ahead of her .
As for me, in no particular order: Kristen Chenoweth, Audra McDonald, Raul Esperaza, Julie Andrews, Joanna Gleason, Norbert Leo Butz (*drools*).
That's what I got off the top of my head."What care I for tinsel or glamour when I have friendship and true love?" ~June, "Gypsy"

Re:Who is your musical theatre idol? - 2007/05/28 10:17I just skimmed over all the posts and realized nobody said my personal Broadway hero: Sherie Rene Scott. I love the roles of Amneris in Aida, and Cathy in the Last Five Years. I don't know about Dirty Rotten Scoundrels very well but I know it's good ^-^
But I will nod my head to any Bernadette Peters vote ^-^"RENT fans....are colloquially known as RENTheads, and even more colloquially known as the most annoying of all musical fans." (However, Wicked fangirls may soon beat them...C: )
Dream roles: Cathy - the Last Five Years Kim - Miss Saigon Eponine - Les Miserables Amneris - Aida Wendla/Ilse - Spring Awakening
