Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2008/01/03 13:52 -when you go to a wedding, the last part of "The Next Ten Minutes" starts playing in your head. You don't realize you're actually singing (both the girl AND guy parts) until half of the people start staring at you

-When asked to read Juliet for a scene in 'Romeo and Juliet' in English class, you don't even have to use your book because you were already in this particular scene for drama class AND you have had the whole 'omg, what if Tybalt's ghost comes for me when I'm laying there nearly dead' monologue memorized since you were ten and didn't know what the words meant.

-You know what the 'omg, what if Tybalt's ghost comes for me when I'm laying there nearly dead monlogue is

-You check out a book from the library and, when you discover that it takes place in England, read the whole book aloud to perfect your English accent.

-When you were little, you got all the little neighborhood kids together and wrote a play that you starred in and that was performed on the back porch for some tired parents.

-This happened every week of the summer of '99.
-Ali

Currently:

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2008/01/06 22:39 -You have ran around backstage in nothing but your underwear freaking out because you can't find your costume or the dresser, or you can't get your costume over your head.

Haha both of these have happened to me. I had extremely short costume changes for joseph and it was hard to get my dress over my hair, and get my leotard off quickly.
I am Hannah!

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2008/01/06 22:43 Your life revolves around when the next audition is.

You are always making an amusing face when someone takes a picture.

You feel comfortable singing loudly in the hallways.

A slight cough or sore throat could decide what happens for the next two months of your life.

Your excuse is... I can't I have play practice.
Current Show: Spitfire Grill
Last Show: Laramie Project
Next Show: Peter Pan

You sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2008/01/07 13:31 When the cast list is posted, you run up to it and start singing 'So Much Better' from Legally Blonde (Is that my name up on that list? Does someone know that I exist...) Melchi Gabor, he's such a radical!!!

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2008/01/09 11:17 -You check out a book from the library and, when you discover that it takes place in England, read the whole book aloud to perfect your English accent.

Wow. I did that. My friend and I (a fellow theatre girl) were on the drama trip bus down to Disneyworld and she had this book that was about these 5 british theatre kids and we realized that we should just read it in our accents.

I adore all of these.

S'more
- You spend at least 45 minutes looking at pictures from the show
-There's a whole separate drawer in your house that holds all the DVD/VHS recordings of your shows
-All of the posters of the shows you've been in line the walls of your room. Not to mention posters of any other playbills, tickets or posters of movie musicals
-Just the smell of the auditorium gives you a warm feeling inside
-Safety pins, bobby pins, hairspray, makeup remover, tights and lipstick are all great birthday presents
(I think someone said this already..) -When you read a play in English class you raise your hand immediately to be one of the rolls and are the only one who does the correct accent and tone.
"If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten. And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing"

Currently: Nothing! So sad..

Favorite Roles: Cosette in Les Miserables

Dream Roles: Lady of the Lake (Spamalot), Val (A Chorus Line), Millie Dillmount (Thoroughly Modern Mille)

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2008/01/11 19:50 ~ Every picture of your iPod is of you in some costume, or of you and your friends backstage
~ You're not embarrassed when someone posts a backstage picture of you in your short shorts, hoes, and leotard top on their MySpace
~ You know that "acting your age" is highly overrated
This isn't a golf tournament, being loud is more than acceptable!

When you got to auditions, you had prepared so much that you know more about the show than the directors.(Or at least you can remember it all better than they can)
Current Roles:
Golde 1 in FotR
Pepper in Annie

Ha Ha so true!!! I prepare sooooooo much for auditions. The last audition i had was for "Oklahoma!" and i spent hours for weeks on my audition song, having to find the perfect song to match the "style" of "Oklahoma!", i also learned so much about "Oklahoma!"'s history and watched the movie. Then i get to the audition, the 2 people (1 girl and 1 guy) who went before me sang Christmas songs and the guy says he has NEVER heard of "Oklahoma!" It gets even better...he got a lead role.

You Know You're a Theater Kid if...
you can totally relate with so many people on MTA
one of the best days of your life took place during show week
all you do is talk about theatre and when you're not talking about it you're thinking about it.

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2008/01/17 10:47 You can never be around theatre enough. Plus, I haven't been in a show since October so I'm basically going to die.

You know you're a theatre kid if:
You think that the stage version of any musical, even if it's horrible, is ten times better than the movie version.
