There's No Place Like Home! - 2008/04/03 17:25 Corney...I know, but I just wanted to say that I succesfully completed my first run as a lead. As you all most likely know, I wanted to be Dorothy in TWOO so badly, but I was only a sophomore. Yet, i won the role and went through a lot of trouble and frustration with people and their ideas of who should have been the lead. It was hard but completely worth it! Last weekend we did 4 shows and nearly all of them were sold out completely, which is a first in the 10 year history our theatre guild has. Each show was perfect with the traditional jokes on Sunday of course. People said it was the best show in the area in decades and others said it was better than the movie! My mom and dad even said I looked exactly like Judy Garland from the audience. I couldn't believe it was happening and that I was in the center of it all!
I just want to thank all of you for all your advice and encouragement. You can't even count how many times I referred to all of you on here as "my theatre website that i'm apart of...." Thanks To All!!!!

love, dorothyy

Re:There's No Place Like Home! - 2008/04/03 17:58 Congrats! I too have shared the magic of that production (The Wizard/Professor Marvel). To do a run like that without a double is something to be proud of!

Well done!

Re:There's No Place Like Home! - 2008/04/05 13:44 Congrats! I did Oz last summer and also played Oz/Marvel. I didn't want the run to end.

Tell me, did you use a real dog for Toto? We did and that was the biggest nightmare of all! Of course, no matter how hard we worked, the first thing audience members would comment about WAS the dog

Keep rocking the house
