Point Park University Theatre - 2008/02/23 14:18 I was recently accepted to Point Park Univerity's Theatre Program as a Bachelor of Arts candidate with a concentration in musical theatre

Does anyone know much about this school that they'd like to share?

Re:Point Park University Theatre - 2008/02/23 22:09 I visited this school about a year and half ago. It wasn't my favorite, and I ended up not applying, but it was more because of other stuff than their acting program. They seem to have a lot of great intern and job opportunities in and around their school. Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.

Re:Point Park University Theatre - 2008/02/24 08:02 Hm... well, as it was with a lot of the colleges I visited, I really ha a problem with the ones that didn't feel it necessary to show me their theatre. To me, that says "theatre is not important enough here". This, unfortunately, was the case at a LOT of them, and this one as well. After that, I wasn't a big fan of Pittburgh period... I'm not really a city girl. And then it was just little things like the fact that three people couldn't be straigntening/curling.blow drying their har or the building would blow a circuit, LOL. And you can't audition outside of school, which was a question I asked every single college I visited. Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.

Re:Point Park University Theatre - 2008/03/07 11:08 My good friend goes to Point Park and she loves it. She's part of the dance program though. I've heard that the musical theatre part is one of the best in the US. That's such a great thing! Congratulations! "If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten. And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing"
