Once you get to the meat of it, it's really hard to read. Use Word and make columns.
Where is your voice at its best, the soprano fach of the mezzo fach? You choose the one best suited to you rather spreading yourself thin. If you can sing a part, they'll hear it when you audition, but it kind of looks like you just don't know. Many will disagree with me on this, but I prefer to be succinct on a resume. Still include belt and performance range (or just belt range, if you decide you're more comfortable in a higher tessitura).
But, like I said, the vocal stuff is a personal thing and I don't expect everyone to agree with me.Briana

Re:My Resume,Be Brutally Honest! - 2008/02/19 22:54Ah, well, when your voice does fall into its place, then you can get specific. I'd just stick with "Soprano with belt" for now.Briana

Re:My Resume,Be Brutally Honest! - 2008/02/20 06:17I usually put the role first, then the show, and then the theater. I think that's how most people do theirs so that when the casting directors look down at your resume, since they are reading left to right, they immediately see all the roles you have played instead of just the shows you have been in.Current Show: Coppelia (Swanhilda's friend) Shows in the Last Year: The Nutcracker(Spanish Chocolate, The Prissy Doll) Little Shop of Horrors (Ronnette), Ragtime (Evelyn Nesbit), Urinetown (Little Sally), Schoolhouse Rock Live (Dori),

Re:My Resume,Be Brutally Honest! - 2008/02/20 16:25I don't think it's necessary to put "will dye hir for roles"- that'll be on the audition form, or they'll ask you (and even if you have it on there, they'll probably still ask you), and the only other people who will read it, like agents or whatever, won't really care if you are willing to dye your hair (they kind of foigure that if you're in acting, you are willing to do whatever necessary).
i also think you can just put "flute"; if you want to put years, you should put that under a traning section. For the accents, you can just put "Accents: Irish, Cockney... etc."Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.

Re:My Resume,Be Brutally Honest! - 2008/02/20 17:37I would consider being more specific about your various vocal styles - exactly which styles are you confident in?_____________ Kris MTA Admin
