This is probably the tiniest resume you'll ever see, but I just got started in musical theatre. [:
I took out my last name, name of school, and voice teachers name. Is there anything I should add/take out? I left out select/regular chorus.

Re:Resume critique? - 2008/02/17 13:33Be honest in your resume, do not pad it with false info, Casting directors can guess your experience sometimes by the way you carry yourself. Any experience should be listed from being in church,to current. As your resume grows, some of the smaller credits may be dropped. If you have never been on stage, list it anyway. Good directors will know your ability. Good luck!Retired from the business after more than 35 years doing mostly character roles, Concentrating now on musical theatre, teaching and directing. Re:Resume critique? - 2008/02/17 15:33Did you take out your last name, school, and teacher's name just for the internet? Because those are things you definitely want to have. Just checking. Also, you're gonna want to put on your email or phone number so they can contact you. (Nothing worse than seeing someone you want and you can't get in touch.) Also, put a section for your special skills and hobbies. Can you turn a cartwheel? Do a British accent? A baseball fan? Someone I know even put "sunny disposition" under there. Not only are they conversation starters (people ask me about something on mine all the time), you might get the show because you can do it. It'll also flesh out your resume a bit. Kris~*~ Kris ~*~

Re:Resume critique? - 2008/02/20 11:10I understand if you took out your last name and adress because it's on the internet, but if that's not the reason you really should have that on your resume. Phone number, address, e-mail address. They need ways to contact you! It would be good to put that all at the top with your name Favorite Shows: Spring Awakening, Avenue Q, Hairspray, Assassins, Parade Dream Role: Melchior or Moritz/Spring Awakening Current Role: Bishop/Comberferre in Les Miserables Upcoming Auditions: Busch Gardens, Thoroughly Modern Millie, All Shook Up, VCU (Classical)

Re:Resume critique? - 2008/02/20 11:12I don't think it would hurt to add other performance experience (if you are in select choral ensembles), but some people may disagree.Favorite Shows: Spring Awakening, Avenue Q, Hairspray, Assassins, Parade Dream Role: Melchior or Moritz/Spring Awakening Current Role: Bishop/Comberferre in Les Miserables Upcoming Auditions: Busch Gardens, Thoroughly Modern Millie, All Shook Up, VCU (Classical)
