semi-related to kris' post-- be careful if you are writing your own musical/show and performing it or "borrowing" songs from shows to do a revue. there are a couple of groups around here who write their own shows and base them on fairy tales and board games and the like. for the most part, every thing is original BUT they might "borrow" a title. for example: they wrote a kids' show based on the game Candy Land and called it Candy Land. word got out and they were forced to cancel the show b/c of copyright infringement. there are also groups who do revues and have talked about "getting away" w/o getting permission and some have found out the hard way that you can't.
some people don't think about these things. but if you are thinking about "it" and flying under the radar, definitely think twice.
