First High School Musical Preview - 2007/10/12 07:57
Last night we had our first preview of our youththeatre’s production of High School Musical. Now, to be honest I don’t like High School Musical at all. I saw like two seconds of the thing on TV and I thought it was stupid. My friends talked me into to doing the production with them though. I didn’t get a lead, but that’s ok. Our director doesn’t like the leads to have any conflicts, which is totally understandable. So I just fully embraced my ensemble role, (even though I am a made up character, whose name is Tim). I get to wear whatever I want to though, so I want for a really crazy kid, and I wear all these crazy things. After the show, the cast went out into the lobby like usual for meet and greet. My friend Camille introduced me to her friends, and they said that they really loved my character. After that, I was talking to my friend Dana, when suddenly Astin called me over, because like 5 or 6 of her friends wanted to meet me and get a picture with me. I was like, “OMG, are you sure you want me?” It was soooo cool and it made me feel really good. I was really happy to know that I gave them a performance to enjoy that much. It just reinstalled the fact in myself that I love doing theatre, musical theatre in particularly, because I can make people so happy. Theatre is magical, it really truly is.
