24 Hour Show. - 2007/09/07 18:58
Okay, not really.
My advanced drama class has a substitute teacher for the first semester, and she's having us do this new thing. A "24 Hour show", but over the course of 6 weeks. Because of my dumb high school's stupidity, the stagecraft classes have been combined with drama, so we have been mushed together and divided into groups. We will have to write a scene or monologue, cast it, design the sets, and build it. We'll be performing the best at our end-of-semester showcase!
I'm really excited, except for the fact that the teacher made one of my good friends (an actress) change groups because "there is too much drama in this group - we need an actor with these stagecrafters!" Now she's all alone with a bunch of boys who are only in the stagecraft class to get credits.
But we shall see how it progresses... I'm in a group with two (talented) male actors, an actress in the class as a stagecrafter, a Japanese exchange student, and a few others. Should be interesting!
I'd like to hear about other people's experiences writing scenes/designing, or if they've ever done a TRUE 24 Hour show!
