The musical adaptation of Legally Blonde will be broadcast on MTV.
The network plans to air a performance of the show in October.
However when I googled for more info I found this:
MTV will likely broadcast a performance of the new musical Legally Blonde, which is based on the hit film of the same name, the New York Post reports.
The cable network, the Post says, will film a performance of the musical at the Palace Theatre this month. No air date has been officially announced.
A Sept. 5 statement issued by the show's producers says, "The report in today's edition of The New York Post on Legally Blonde — The Musical ("I 'Blonde' My MTV") is premature. If an agreement is reached between the producers of the Broadway production and MTV to air a behind-the-scenes special and the production in its entirety, a detailed press release will be issued. In an historic move, MTV has announced plans to film the Broadway musical Legally Blonde and air it in its entirety multiple times on the popular cable network. The first broadcast of the MTV special Legally Blonde - The Musical, which includes a backstage look at the hit show, is scheduled for Saturday, September 29 at 1PM. MTV will film Legally Blonde onstage at the Palace Theatre, where it opened on April 29, for two special performances in mid-September. In order to bring the TV audience closer to the action of the musical, cameras will be placed onstage in addition to shooting from various locations in the theater. The first filming will take place without an audience and the second in front of an invited audience of VIPs.

I know. It was just a comparison. That it doesn't seem right to show a real broadway show on television when people are paying to see it.
