A summer song - 2007/05/30 12:56
Hey, Im new here, but ive been a lurker for a while now...
Ive been asked to perform a solo in my college end of year show - the theme for the show is summer (i know ... how very original  ) But im not sure what to sing, my range is almost four octaves now, im about a tone off, but im a belter for say... 2 and half and then i am a trained soprano but my break is really obvious (something which im working on at the moment) so when i considered "Summer in ohio" it suited well at first, but although i can reach the notes near the end it's an obvious change in my voice...
So i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a summer-themed-song with, mainly a belter mezzo range? I even thought about possibly Summertime, up a semi-tone and then in a lower octave, but the choir are doing a group version *sigh*
So if anyone could give me any adivce that would be great
