Another talent show question - university level - 2008/02/15 01:23 My university is doing a talent show this year. The university is fairly large (20k-30k people?), but hardly anyone seems to participate in extracurriculars, so I'd say I have a fair chance at the auditions. I think I sound great when I've warmed up my voice enough and stay within my comfort range.

Now, my question is what would be suitable material for it? Could I do a Broadway song? I really love the song "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood" for whatever reason, and it stays completely within my range, so there's no way I could mess it up.

Is this something that could work at a talent show? What are some other suggestions?

vocal info: soprano, COMFORT range (ie., the range I can't possibly mess up in...my performance range is larger than this, but I don't want this to be something I have ANY chance of messing up with) of A below middle C to F below soprano C, HATE singing in chest voice
