I'm going to be auditioning for Grease at my local community theatre in a couple weeks. I'd love the part of Rizzo, but would still be pleased with Marty, Frenchie, Sandy or Jan.
I'm thinking about using "Dance 10 Looks 3" from A Chorus Line for my audition song. Also, we've been asked to prepare a 1 minute monologue. For that I'm thinking about doing Velma's little speech in the song, "Cell Block Tango", from Chicago.
What do you think? Are those good choices? If you don't think so, any suggestions are welcome.

Re:Grease audition - 2008/04/30 21:52I think that the monologe is a good choice, but I think that you need to pick a different song because that song misses the kind of characters in Grease, and too jazzy a style. You should chose a song with some aditude for Rizzo or some 50s style song. I auditioned for Rizzo and I'm still a little bitter about it because my audition was PERFECT and I still to this day don't understand why she cast some 13 year old instead of me. I'd love to be Rizzo but I'd be happy with Frenchy too. I understand how you feel though.
