Re:the laramie project - 2007/08/14 15:02 i am glad that the director didn't back down. the laramie project is a play that needs to be seen, especially by high school and college students (but also by their parents). i was fortunate enough to see this play when my college put it on this spring. it was amazing. Re:the laramie project - 2007/08/14 16:47 i think my "favorite" line was from the official in the first article (in defense of not allowing the show to be done) who said he knows the SATs and the great pieces of literature that are on it-- The Laramie Project is no Merchant of Venice. to me that shows great ignorance b/c many great pieces of literature are "controversial" and "insightful", for example the potential reading of The Merchant of Venice as anti-semitic. They call me Jessica (like: They call me lady luck... lol)

Favorite roles:

Eva Peron, Evita; Jack's Mother, Into the Woods; Sonia, Godspell; Anything Goes, Reno Sweeney; Audrey, Little Shop of Horrors; Catherine, Pippin

Re:the laramie project - 2007/08/17 12:22 Eh. It's an okay show. The message is nice enough, but the productions I've seen of it always fall between too minimalist or over produced. I can understand the hesitance to perform it, regardless of the intent of the play. The SAT statement is quite ignorant, that's true enough.
