Advertising - 2008/01/09 21:02 What have been your most successful/innovative advertising techniques? My high school show is in two months and in the past our major problem has been not “getting the word out.” It would be interesting to see what different things everybody does.

Re:Advertising - 2008/01/09 22:30 Contact local radios, newspapers, put up posters and/or fliers anywhere you can, take ad space in other theatrical playbills, make a facebook group or event, make a webpage, contact a local news station (a lot of the time, morning news shows will have guests on to do a small promo), see if you can go to a local mall(s) and do a song or two if they have a stage-type area...

There's quite a lot you can do, I've been with theatre groups who have done all of these things and been pretty successful.

Re:Advertising - 2008/01/11 19:53 When I was doing 'Into the Woods', we went around and performed a couple songs from the show at the local schools. After our songs, one of the cast members would step forward and give the dates, times, and location of the show and invite the kids to come. This company does that with all of their shows, and it usually works out pretty well for them. This isn't a golf tournament, being loud is more than acceptable!

Re:Advertising - 2008/01/16 20:38 Thanks!

One new idea we had this year was to put little signs like politicians have in cast member's front yards.
