Re:Resume critique! - 2008/05/01 18:57 Hi Jessica:

Do you know how to use tables in Word? If you do, think about placing a 3-column table on the top of the page. Place the name, phone number, etc. in the middle column and then pictures of yourself in the left and right columns. It will put some color on the page. It also gives you somewhere to do with those candid pictures that people take at dress. Also, if your picture gets separated from the resume, they remember what you look like.

The other thing that I would do is to bullet-point the stuff you have on the bottom under "special skills". It would make each of those skills stand out more and fill up the page.

You may want to also make your headers be bigger and double-space stuff, just to fill out the page a little bit better. The human eye is drawn to white space, so we don't want to push every up to the top.

SOONER than you THINK, you will have SO MUCH stuff ON YOUR RESUME, that you will have to make everything SMALLER, but for now, make it all be "pretty on the page".

I hope this is helpful.

All the Best,

Jamey

Re:Resume critique! - 2008/05/03 10:13 okay, updated version! (the bulleting & double spacing made it two pages, so i didnt do that)

Re:Resume critique! - 2008/05/03 10:30 It is better. I made some changes to the text, but think about taking the Beauty and the Beast and the Les Mis clip art out and put YOUR dress rehearsal pix in there. If nothing else, put your head shot in one of them. Again, that will give some color to the resume and if your headshot gets lost, they will have a picture of you.

Just my suggestions.
