Re:Me singing only hope (with music this time!!!) - 2007/12/15 09:50
yay!!! you sang with a backing! it really does make a difference-- and a good one!
i sang this song a couple of months ago for my brother's wedding. i think if you look back in the forum archives you might find a link to mine. it's a really pretty-- and powerful song, isn't it?
you got much stronger/more confident by the second verse. i liked how you got through, "i give you my destiny...."
your overall pitch was much better-- it's usually good so really think having the backing helped you.
try opening your mouth more. and i don't mean your lips, rather i mean the inside. try to raise your palate more and put your sound forward. sometimes (mostly in that first verse) it sounds like your sound is spreading or coming up and through your nose. you do get freer as you sing the song.
honestly, i think this is a tough song to sing. it's pop, religious, deep, mandy moore.... i felt like i had to sing it several times and lots of different ways before i was really satisfied with MY sound. what do you think?
keep submitting your recordings. each time you do you grow a little and i love hearing that!
