Do you mean you sang "Day by Day" and "Beautiful City" at the audition or you were cast to sing those two songs? Because Robin LaMont sang Day by Day on Broadway and in the move. She is pretty much the "second banana" (maybe third banana to St. John/Judas Iscariot). Beautiful City was sang by Jesus and Judas Iscariot.
I have seen that play dozens of times and I wore out a VHS tape of the movie. If it were playing near me right now, I would be there. A Methodist Church near me put it up two years ago. I went to so many performances that a woman in the lobby asked me "which one of the kids in the cast (was mine)". When I told her that I was just a fan of the play, she looked at me like I was there to kidnap a cast member.
I hope you get a part. It is a WONDERFUL show!
