Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/01 17:27LOL I've been in two "cat fight" scenes - one in A Midsummer Night's Dream and one during the havana scene in Guys & Dolls. They were both pretty tame though, and mostly involved a guy trying to break the two girls up and ending up getting the worst of it himself. They were so fun to do though!_____________ Kris MTA Admin

Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/01 20:01I am in Oklahoma! (junior version) right now and most of the good fight snenes are edited: Like the one between Ado Annie and Gertie. But we still have a fight in the Farmer and the Cowman, and the fight between Curly and Jud (only Jud doesn't die, he just gets punched in the face so he gets knocked out) (not as exciting in my opinion).-Laura

Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/01 20:38^^ Jud doesn't DIE? What? That sounded violent of me, sorry.
in 101 Dalmatians, I was Horace and Cruella would beat us up all the time, and then the whole Twilight Bark mobbed us during the finale. I fell down or was pushed down 45 times in an hourlong show. I have scars from that show, but it was my first and holds a special place in my heart haha.-Ali

Yeah it is just kind of stupid because he just gets "hurt"... and we can't change because of licensing and stuff like that... but everyone was joking around that after bows we could kill him then! -Laura

Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/01 23:53This isn't really a "fight" scene, but I do rememeber that in Guys and Dolls jr last year, I was Sarah Brown, and our director relied on the old "move your head before she slaps you" trick for Sky and Sarah's scene in the mission. The first time we did this in rehearsal, the guy playing Sky didn't move his head fast enough, and I left a nasty red mark on his face. We had to do some editing after that incident. I'm Micaela. But you can call me Mickey!

Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/02 14:51In high school, I played Inigo Montoya in a stage adaptation of The Princess Bride. I rocked the cold steel.
As far as musicals, no real fight scenes. I got to handle a whip as Vibrata in "...Forum" and we had a circle of pain at the end of "Run, Freedom, Run!" in Urinetown because the entire cast was crippled (theater in the round, each fall triggering a domino effect until we were all knocked out with Billy sheepishly looking on from the middle). And all the other mock-fights in Urinetown (act 1 finale, I distracted Officer Barrell while two other girl jabbed him in the crotch with the canes from the blind troupe of UGC workers, and, of course, Barrell was later pummeled to death by the lot of us).
I can't wait to kick some tush during Side Show!Briana

Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/02 17:28I was just cast in the ensemble of AIDA, and I get to do a little swordfighting. Its kind of wierd though because we're using these very oddly shaped egyptian swords that i've never handled before. I'm pretty stoked.Currently: Elton Johns AIDA (Chorus, Dancer)
Past Shows: 101 Dalmatians (Roger) Grease! (Teen Angel, Chorus) High School Musical (Ryan)

Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/03 18:00As Sir Guy of Gisborne in the world premiere of HOOD, we had a few amazing fight scenes, with full weight swords with blunt edges as well as quarter staffs. The training was tedious, but in the end well worth it.
(Too bad I didn't get to keep the sword I helped make )Mystery becomes malice, Shrouds become walls.

Re:Fight Scenes - 2008/04/04 23:05We had a really intense fight scene at the end of the scottish play at my school. A guy who had graduated came back the year before to stage the entire thing and it looked really awesome complete with very real looking fake blood (there was a lot of fake blood used in that show). There was blood all over the backstage area for months.
