Re:It's official... - 2008/02/08 15:16yeah, but guys think about it: if it was terrible, why would Sutton want to do it? She's smart, and she knows how to pick 'em:
- Thoroughly Modern Millie - Drowsy Chaperone - Young Frankenstein
(She HAS done other shows, i am no currently on drugs - i know she has. these are just the ones that stand out in my mind where she was amazing!)~ Kaitlin ~ Always Rockin The Boat ~
Favorite Shows: Young Frankenstein, Curtains, Little Shop of Horrors, The Producers Dream Roles that I have NO CHANCE of Getting Because of Something i Have no control over: Ulla from the Producers or Inga from Young Frankenstein (neither tall nor blonde - such a shame too, because this is one of my favorite "character roles" to play), Igor from Young Frankenstein (i'm no man, no matter how many times i play one), Gary Coleman from Avenue Q (skin color) SEEING ON MARCH 29TH ON BROADWAY - YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ^^ AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

You know what...if Sutton is in this I'm certain I'll like it because I seem to like everything she's connected with!! It seems a little soon for her to be leaving YF though.
So this could be good...I wonder if it'll be more traditional Broadway or more like...Hairspray or Grease or something with a poppy feel. Yeah probably more like Hairspray. The opposite of Rent is Oklahoma!!! Why didn't I think of that?

Re:It's official... - 2008/02/13 00:45I think it will probably have a pop feel, too. What I want to see is who will be Gingy! haha→ DEVYN

"Joining Shrek on his journey from swamp to stage will be the Tony AwardŽ-winning Sutton Foster (Princess Fiona), who is currently starring as Inga in Broadway's Young Frankenstein and returning to Seattle after its pre-Broadway run; Tony AwardŽ-nominee Christopher Sieber (Lord Farquaad), who is currently in Broadway's Spamalot; and Kecia Lewis-Evans (The Dragon), who was most recently seen on Broadway as Trix in The Drowsy Chaperone. Learn more about casting and SHREK THE MUSICAL's Broadway debut at Playbill.com
Stay tuned - additional casting, including Shrek and Donkey will be announced soon!"
So Sutton IS in it! I cannot wait to find out who Shrek and Donkey are. The others sound promising too.→ DEVYN

Hooray! She has a lovely voice. I saw her in the Drowsy Chaperone.
I wonder what made them decide to turn the Shrek story into a Broadway show? There should be some... interesting songs to come from this.
