Stranded At The Drive-In - 2007/06/24 10:51 Our local drive-in has reopened for the summer, which means I am back in movie-watching mode (I hate paying to see movies, but I love watching them, and the drive-in is cheap!)

I've been twice so far and have seen Shrek 3, Next, Surfs Up and Ocean's Thirteen.

All were enjoyable, but my favorites were Surfs Up and Next. Surf's Up was SO FUNNY. It's marketed as a kids movie but honestly I think adults would get much more out of it. I love seeing another non-Disney company doing some great animation. Scratch that - FABULOUS animation.

Next stars Nicolas Cage (who I have always liked) and is one of the few movies I have watched in a long time that was not completely predictable. I know it didn't get very good reviews but... reviewers aren't always right. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Jessica Biel can actually act.

What movies are you looking forward to this summer?

Re:Stranded At The Drive-In - 2007/06/24 11:35 Even though I didn't like what was done with the fourth Harry Potter book, cutting out sub plots yet adding ridiculously long action sequences, I am still looking forward to seeing Order of the Phoenix. This time I won't re-read the book the week before I see it.

I also love the Bourne series and am really looking forward to seeing The Bourne Ultimatum.

There are other movies I'd like to see, but I just quit my job to go back to school so I'll be waitng until Netflix has them

Re:Stranded At The Drive-In - 2007/06/24 18:37 Becoming Jane
PotC 3 (saw it- loved it)
Hairspray
Order of the Pheonix (I saw the fourth in IMAX and goes to do the same with the fifth)
And yes... High School Musical 2

I don't know if I'm looking forward to Nancy Drew... I loved the old books, but I know it won't be like that. So I'll probably go and see it and not expect it to be like the books.

There's a movie that was supposed to come out this summer, Atonement (based on the book and starring my favorite actress, Keira Knightley), but has been moved to December, which is sooo far away...
Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.

Currently In: Nothing

Sadly I don't know what else is coming out! I'm usually a movie junky, but work has kept me out of touch with the movie scene lately.

And I wish I had a drive-in around...I would be there all the time!
